Community guidelines
Help make Qwry worth reading.
These rules apply to questions, answers, profiles, links, votes, reports, and every other way people participate on Qwry. Follow both their wording and their purpose: contribute in good faith, protect other people, and leave each page more useful than you found it.
Participate in good faith
Use Qwry to ask, answer, learn, and discuss—not to provoke people, derail pages, or manufacture attention. Stay relevant to the question and topic. Repeated low-effort posts, intentional disruption, and behavior meant to make the site harder to use may be removed.
Ask genuine, answerable questions
Use a specific title, include context that changes the answer, and explain what you have already tried when relevant. Search before posting. Do not ask the same thing repeatedly, disguise a statement or advertisement as a question, or request private information about another person.
Answer the question that was asked
Put the useful part in the answer itself. Be direct, explain important conditions, and distinguish fact from opinion. A short answer is fine when it is complete. Do not plagiarize, knowingly invent facts, or use a partial answer mainly to push readers to another website.
Treat people with respect
Criticize ideas without attacking the person. Do not harass, bully, stalk, threaten, shame, or encourage others to target someone. Hate or dehumanizing content aimed at people because of identity, vulnerability, or protected characteristics is not allowed.
No violence or exploitation
Do not threaten, glorify, coordinate, or meaningfully facilitate violence, abuse, exploitation, trafficking, or self-harm. Content that sexualizes or exploits minors is prohibited. Non-consensual intimate media and sexual coercion are never allowed.
Keep dangerous and illegal activity off Qwry
Do not use Qwry to arrange illegal transactions, sell controlled goods, distribute malware, run scams, evade security, or provide instructions intended to cause serious harm. General discussion, prevention, and recovery information may be allowed when it is presented responsibly.
Respect privacy and consent
Do not reveal or threaten to reveal someone's private or confidential information. This includes home addresses, precise live locations, private contact details, identity documents, financial information, medical records, credentials, and the real identity of a person using a pseudonym. Do not solicit sensitive information that is unnecessary to answer a question.
Represent yourself honestly
Usernames may be pseudonymous, but accounts may not deceptively impersonate a person or organization, fabricate credentials, or hide a relationship that would matter to readers. Do not use additional accounts to evade restrictions, mislead others, or create the appearance of independent support.
Do not manipulate votes or engagement
Vote on usefulness, not on who posted. Do not buy, sell, trade, coordinate, or automate votes; direct groups to overwhelm a page; or reward people for engagement. Reports must identify a genuine concern and may not be used to silence disagreement. Qwry limits which votes can generate points, caps point gains from repeated voting patterns, and may reverse manipulated awards. See the points and reputation guide for the published rules.
No spam or disguised promotion
Do not post repetitive content, deceptive links, unsolicited offers, scams, or answers written mainly to drive traffic or sales. Relevant recommendations are allowed when they directly answer the question. Disclose employment, ownership, sponsorship, affiliate, or other material relationships that could affect your recommendation.
Share only what you have the right to post
Respect copyrights, trademarks, confidentiality obligations, and other legal rights. Quote only what is necessary, credit the original work, and add your own useful explanation. Do not publish pirated material or request unauthorized copies.
Do not interfere with Qwry
Do not attempt to compromise accounts, bypass access controls, scrape restricted data, overload the service, exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with normal use. Report security concerns privately through the contact form rather than posting working exploit details publicly.
Moderation and enforcement
Qwry may add a warning, request an edit, limit visibility, merge a duplicate, remove content, restrict features, or temporarily or permanently suspend an account. Serious safety threats, child sexual exploitation, credible violence, malware, scams, and deliberate privacy violations may lead to immediate action.
Decisions consider context, severity, intent, harm, and account history. Rules may be updated as the community changes. If you believe a decision was mistaken, use the contact form and include the page URL, the action being appealed, and why you believe it should be reconsidered.
