Why is my YouTube video stuck on checks after the upload finishes?

Usually the upload is done; YouTube is waiting on separate copyright and, for monetized channels, ad-suitability checks. If Studio says "Some checks are pending" or shows an additional review, YouTube says most finish within hours but some can take up to 24 hours. I'd leave the video private or unlisted while that runs, then check the Content tab for any notice or restriction once it updates. You can publish while copyright checks run, but waiting is the safer move if the launch needs a settled monetization decision. If it is still checking after 24 hours, look for the specific notice in Studio and use the review/appeal option only if one is offered.
