Why are my WordPress template-part file edits ignored after I used the Site Editor?

That’s normal with a block theme: once you save a template part in the Site Editor, WordPress stores a customized version in the database and it takes precedence over the theme’s `/parts/...html` file. So editing the file afterward can look like it’s being ignored.

If you want the file to be the source of truth again, reset or clear that template-part customization in the Site Editor, then refresh any page and server/CDN cache. If the editor change is the one you want to keep, use the Site Editor’s Export tool and move the exported part into your theme or child theme, then reset the database override. Don’t just overwrite the file while a saved editor version is still active—it won’t win.
